Tweener

The Tweener, a patented linear LED lighting innovation by NLX, is specifically designed for outdoor tennis courts. With its plug-and-play installation, playing tennis in the dark has never been easier.

Tennis, along with its infrastructure, must adhere to a range of regulations and standards, including lighting requirements. Outdoor courts are expected to maintain a lighting quality of 300 lux on the ground, while indoor courts should have 500 lux. The assessment of lighting quality is conducted at 13 specific points on the court, corresponding to intersections of lines and the net with the ground. A tolerance of 0.7 between each point is permitted. Currently, courts are illuminated using fixed spotlights positioned at the top of posts located at the four corners of the court, as well as two at net level. However, obtaining a building permit from the municipality is necessary for their installation.

As a specialist in LED and sports lighting for the past decade, and having collaborated with the French swimming and basketball federations, Next Lighting eXperience (NLX) embarked on a journey in 2018 to revolutionize tennis court lighting. Over the course of a year, I participated in the product’s development and expansion, engaging in studies, producing technical drawings, undertaking graphic assignments, and even contributing to the assembly process at the factory.

PRINCIPLE

An assembly of aluminum profile including lighting is attached directly to the fence and posts at both sides of the court over the entire length.
